The many friends of James B. Aylward were shocked at the news of his death which occurred on the eleventh of February at the St. Francis Hospital, Peoria. For several months, he had been fighting a hopeless battle with disease and had used every means to stay its progress, but to no effect. During all the time of his suffering he was patient and cheerful, never once complaining but being completely reconciled to the will of God. Mr. Aylward was born May 1st, 1870 and has ever since resided near Princeville. By his quiet and gentle manners, he won for himself a host of friends which he retained till his death. The funeral took place at St. Mary of the Woods and was attended by the Woodmen of Princeville, Monica and Duncan.
Since Mr. Aylward's death, his aged mother has also been called to her reward. The heartfelt sympathy of the entire community goes out to the family in this, their double affliction.
