Lena Mary Bowers, 92, Hidden Meadow Lane, Chuckey, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at the home after a brief illness.

Mrs. Bowers was born on May 5, 1908, in Cassapolis, Mich., to Earl and Mable Charles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William McKinley Bowers, who died in 1994, and a brother, Russell Charles.

Mrs. Bowers was a member of the First Church of God, Greeneville.

Survivors include two sons and two daughters, Charles McKinley Bowers, Limestone, Mary T. Ramirez, Chuckey, Norma Jean Ayers, Morristown, and William E. Bowers, Mocksville, N.C. Nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive.
Westside Chapel Funeral Home, Morristown, is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Lena Mary Bowers, 92, Hidden Meadow Lane, Chuckey, who died Sunday, March 4, 2001, will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at First Church of God in Greeneville with the Rev. Earrell Sovine officiating.

Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Monte Vista Burial Park in Johnson City, Tn.

Mrs. Bowers will lie in state on Tuesday at the First Church of God in Greeneville, Tn. from 12 noon until 6:30 p.m., at which time the family will receive friends.

The family wishes to express appreciation to their friends for their prayers, cards, food and visits during her illness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice, Inc., 1128 Tusculum Blvd., Suite C, Greeneville, TN 37745. Westside Chapel Funeral Home, Morristown, is in charge of arrangements.
