Inman-Joseph Elias Belcher 75, of Main St., died at his home Sunday night after a long illness.
He was a retired railroad employee and was a member of New Pisgah Baptist Church. He was also the oldest active deacon of the church.
He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and was the son of the late Elias and Polly Ann Bishop Belcher.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie L. Belcher; three daughters, Mrs. Callie Morgan, Mrs. D. L. Calloway and Mrs. Roy Fowler, all of Route 7; two sons, Leroy and Tommy, both of Inman; two brothers, Wells of Inman Route 1 and Tom of Colorado; 21 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 4 at New Pisgah Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church yard.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Deacons of New Pisgah Baptist Church will form the honorary escort.
The J.F. Floyd Mortuary is in charge.
