Mrs. W.T. Davis Dead
Mrs. Emma Drucilla Davis, 85, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Wilson, on Tuesday, after a lingering illness. She had been blind for many years. In our young manhood Mrs. Davis ran a millinery store here and was one of the busiest women we ever knew.
She was born September 18, 1845, in Winchester, Mo. She came to Cherokee from Missouri 31 years ago. She is survived in addition to the daughter, by one son, J.R. Davis of St. Louis, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock by Rev. G.W. Corporan, and interment (was) in the Cherokee cemetery.
