She was born February 7, 1922 in Lehi, Utah, the daughter of Rodney Chase and Hilda Carlson Allred. She married Bernell Wardell Coons in the Mesa LDS Temple, April 9, 1945. They have five children. She graduated from the Salt Lake General Hospital in 1944, as a registered nurse. She worked in local hospitals, but spent most of her working years as a public health and school nurse in Davis County. She had many talents, including: sewing, quilting, music, gardening, and has painted many masterpieces. She loved genealogy and temple work, and with her family made many trips doing research. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and was a great example to her family and friends. She held numerous church callings in the various organizations. She was a loving, treasured wife and mother. She loved to travel with her family. She enjoyed camping and later helped to build a family cabin. She loved to play with her grandchildren. They have fond memories of spending time with their grandma in various games, activities, walks, discussions and trips.
She is survived by her husband, Bernell; her children: Carolyn Lundgren, Bountiful; David (Bonnie) Coons, Bountiful; Douglas (Laurie) Coons, West Bountiful; Marianne (Rodger) Moyes, Bountiful; and Richard (Marjann) Coons, Centerville; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; a close family of nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the Bountiful 39th Ward Chapel, 1500 South. 600 East. Friends and Family may visit on Tuesday evening from 6:30 -8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street and on Wednesday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the Church prior to services.
Interment-Bountiful Memorial Park.
