Mrs. Erma Parks Grissinger of Mapleton Depot, R.D. died Friday, September 19, 1958, at 2:55 PM in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. She suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on Friday morning. She was born March 5, 1894, at Mapleton Depot, R.D., a daughter of Henry A. and Nora (Lynn) Monihen. She was first married to Isaac F. Parks on October 5, 1918, at the Three Springs Methodist parsonage by the Rev. George Frownfelter and he preceded her in death. She was later married to Ira Grissinger in July 1945, at Hustontown by the Rev. Chauncey Varner.
Her husband survives along with the following children: Robert M. Parks, Huntingdon; Mrs. Frank (Anita) Spriggle, Huntingdon; and Mrs. Ben (Hula) Quarry, I. Glover Parks, and Fred H. Parks, all of Mapleton Depot, R.D. There are 17 grandchildren. Also surviving are the following step-children: Mrs. Mitchel Bumgardner and Miss Blanche Grissinger, both of Cassville; Mrs. Erma Grissinger and Irwin Grissinger, both of Bristol; Mrs. Andrew Blair, Kistler; Harold Grissinger, Mooresville; Mrs. Fred Banks, Elkhart, IN; and Mrs. Guy Naugle, Mapleton Depot, R.D. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Elby Harper and Glenn Monihen, both from Huntingdon, and Mrs. Cecil (Mary) Flood, Painsville, OH.
The deceased was a member of the EUB Church of Latta Grove. Mrs. Grissinger taught school in 1914 and was an instructor in both Penn and Cass Townships. During WW II, she was a teacher at Latta Grove and Cooks Mills.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 22, at 2 p.m. from the McClain Funeral Home, Cassville. The Rev, Charles F. Miller, pastor of the Latta Grove EUB Church will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Raymond Smith, pastor of the Beech Run Church of the Brethren. Interment will be made in the Cornelius Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
