"A lifelong Springwater resident, Carrie B. Fisher, age 91, died Tuesday, 3 Oct 1967 at the Livingston County Infirmary, Geneseo. Mrs. Fisher was a charter member of the Wawanta Rebekah Lodge, a charter member of the Springwater Grange with which she was affiliated for the past 56 years, and a member of the Springwater Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Duffy of Springwater, Mrs. Anne Braun of Naples, Mrs. Sara Sonne of Canandaigua; a sister, Mrs. Marguerite Gross of Naples; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted today at 3 p.m. in the Stanton Funeral Home, Wayland. The Rev. Raymond Horan will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Springwater." At the time of her death, Carrie had been at the Livingston Infirmary at Geneseo for two weeks, after having broken her hip while watching fireworks on the 4th of July. She fell while walking on the rain-soaked porch of the Springwater home of her daughter, Minnie (Fisher) Duffy, with whom she had resided for several years.
