The Holton Recorder, January 12, 1911:
Denison. G. W. Buchanan Douglass was born January 3, 1843, in Richie county, West Va. While quite young he came with his parents to Missouri. He served his country as a soldier during the Civil War. In 1874 he moved to Denison, Kansas, and to Larkinburg in 1888, at which place he died after a short illness, January 8, 1911, at the age of 68 years, 5 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Bradley in 1875. His wife, two daughters, Mrs. Sloop of Atchison and Mrs. Tharp of Denison and one son, Edward of Larkinburg are living. A brother, W. A. Douglass of Denison and a sister, Mrs. Catherine Douglass of Kansas City, survive him. The latter being unable to be present at the funeral. At the age of 18 he identified himself with the Presbyterian church of Willow Brook, Mo., and later with the U. P. church of Denison. When he moved to Larkinburg his membership was transferred to the M. E. church of Arrington .... Interment was in the Denison cemetery.

Philo. Mrs. Laura Bradley and family will attend the funeral of their uncle, Mr. Douglass, of Larkinburg, Tuesday.
