Eli Brubaker was born in Fairfield County, Ohio on December 11, 1819, departed this life July 10, 1907, aged 87 years, 6 months and 29 days. On June 20, 1842 he was married to Mary Warner. To this union eleven children were born, seven of whom are still living. His wife died on December 24, 1872. On February 3, 1875 he was married to Miss Emma Squibb, who survives him. In 1843 he came to Marion County, Illinois and settled in Stevenson Township where he continued to reside until his death. His funeral was held at New Bethel Church and his remains were laid to rest in Summit Prairie Cemetery.
