ROBERT C. NEWMAN
Robert C. Newman, 39, 3801 W. McCarty St., Indianapolis, former resident of Anderson died suddenly Tuesday morning at Indianapolis.
Mr. Newman came to Anderson after serving in World War II and resided here for several years before going to Indianapolis. He had made his home in that city for six years.
He was born in Muncie, a son of John and Bessie Newman, and attended schools there. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and was employed with the Foster Freight Lines at Indianapolis.
Survivors include the widow, Elsie; a daughter, Miss Roberta Newman, Anderson; a stepdaughter, Miss Linda Newman, Indianapolis; his stepmother, Mrs. Jeanette Newman, Anderson; two brothers, Victor Newman, Anderson, and John Newman, Houston, Texas; three half sisters, Mrs. Helen Spangler, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Flossie Stewart and Mrs. Gola Williams, both of Muncie; five half brothers, Clyde and Roy Mann, both of California; Leo and Leon Mann, both of Chicago, and Roy Mann, Muncie.
The body was brought to the Brown and Butz Funeral Home where friends will be received after 2 p.m. today and where funeral rites will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Harold Bramblett of the Fortville EUB Church will be in charge and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
