FREDERICK Graveside service for Alta Grissom Russell, 96, Frederick, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Frederick Memorial Cemetery with David Ridenhour, minister, Frederick Church of Christ, officiating.
Mrs. Russell died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, in Frederick.
Arrangements are under direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home.
She was born July 6, 1912, in Frederick, to Lucius Lavader and Hannah Cordelia Hall Grissom. She attended Frederick schools and graduated high school in 1930. She married Joe Alvin Russell on March 6, 1932, in Frederick. He died June 14, 1994. During World War II, she worked at the Frederick Air Base in the airplane parts division. She worked for many years for Dr. J.H. Holloman in his dental practice. She was a member of Frederick Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Joe Lynn Russell, Anchorage, Alaska, and Dr. David and Jane Russell, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruth Morton and Myrtle Anderson; and her parents.
