Eleanor was enumerated with her parents, age 3, in the June 1870 census of Allen County, Bronson in Bourbon County being just east of the Allen-Bourbon county line. After the early 1800s the word "aged" in vital records and on gravestones did not reflect its original Latin meaning in pre-1800 New England records and in gravestone inscriptions, rather one's chronological "age."
