Arzie "Junior" Baldwin Jr., 76, died Feb. 28, 2008 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Born Aug. 13, 1931 at Charter Oak, to the late Arzie and Bertie Lou Barnett Baldwin, he lived most of his life in the Essex area.
He took care of the Essex Cemetery and retired after 20 years of service as an Essex police officer.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War.
On April 27, 1989 at Sikeston, he married Patricia Sue Woodruff, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include one son, Marc Baldwin of Frisco; four brothers, Billy Baldwin of Charter Oak, MO; Riley Baldwin of Cuba, MO; Ronnie Baldwin of Benton, MO; and Rick Baldwin of Sturdivant, MO; one sister, Cassandra Breece of Jackson, MO; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons in infancy, Michael Baldwin and Timothy Baldwin; and two sisters, Mary Swinger and Pauline Pannebecker.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted Monday. The Rev. Ronnie Ledbetter of Essex will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Pallbearers were Sam Bruschi, Bill Baldwin Jr., Tony Burdin, Jeff Baldwin, Jeff Shelton, David Swinger, T.J. Baldwin, Chris Baldwin and Rickie Baldwin.
