Mrs. Elizabeth Tinsman, lifelong resident of Monticello and familiarly known to her friends and neighbors as "Bettie" passed away at the home of her daughter in Monticello. She had been ill for the past few months.

Elizabeth Shaffer was the d/o Samuel and Mahala Shaffer and born near Monticello on January 28, 1856. On July 21, 1885 she was united in marriage to Lorenzo Tinsman; he preceded her in death on February 18, 1920. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. J. L. Hogue, Urbana; Mrs. George Miller, Waukegan; and Mrs. J. A. Leslie. She also leaves two brothers: John Shaffer, Homer MI; and Charles Shaffer, Phoenix AZ; and two sisters: Mrs. Susan Parsons, Colorado Springs CO; and Mrs. Addie Plunk of Monticello; also four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Tinsman was a splendid neighbor, a good mother and a true friend to all who knew her. She will be sadly missed.
