Preston Rites Slated Today
Funeral for Phillip Preston, 59, Abilenian about 12 years, who died in Hendrick Memorial Hospital Tuesday afternoon, was to be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott's Chapel of Memories.
J. L. Musgrave, Church of Christ minister of Dudley, was to officiate. Burial was to be in the Tecumseh Cemetery near Oplin.
Mr. Preston, who resided at 1334 Oak St., suffered a heart attack early Tuesday at his home. He was a car salesman.
He was born Aug. 18, 1897, in Callahan County and was reared in the Oplin community. On Aug. 1, 1927, he married Lottie Hays. For a many years he was a car salesman.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Harry Frambrough of Tularosa, N.M.; his mother, Mrs. Lena Preston of Rt. 2 Clyde; three brothers, George and Walter of Abilene and Henry N. Preston of Gladewater; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Johnston of Abilene and Mrs. Leo Chrane and Mrs. Troy Chrane, both of Dudley; two step-daughters, Mrs. Lillian Pope of Brady and Mrs. Dennis Hays of Windthorst, four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Oli Neel, Lucian Pierce, Walter McBride, Lucian Warren, Arlie Nobles, Leslie Taylor, Russell Neel and Roy Armor.
