He was the hero of Fort Massachusetts during the French and Indian War.

Husband of Elizabeth Nims Hawks, married Dec 10,1730.

Children: Abner Hawks(father of Hester Hawks, Eunice Hawks Abbot, Joseph Hawks, and Elizabeth Hawks), John Hawks Jr, Moses Hawks, Elizabeth Hawks Childs, Anne Hawks, Obediah/Obed Hawks, Rebecca Hawks Stebbins, and Solomon Hawks.

He was the hero of Fort Massachusetts during the French and Indian War.
