Harold R. Allen, 82, of Chillicothe, died 8:46 a.m. Monday, September 08, 2008 in Heartland of Chillicothe following an extended illness. Harold was born June 6, 1926, in Richmond Dale, to the late Howard L. and Elizabeth D. Stockman Allen. On October 21, 1949, he married the former Vivian L. French who survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Terry (Mike) Borland, of Lancaster and Cindy (Mike) Hensley, of Pataskala; a son, Dr. Kyle (Lynn) Allen, of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Lindsey (Craig) Stevenson, of Circleville, Seth Borland, of Lancaster, Lance Cpl. Brandon Allen, of Okinawa, Japan, Nicholas Allen and Christopher Allen, both of Cuyahoga Falls; a great grandson, Chase Stevenson; a brother, Dwight E. (Carolyn) Allen, of Columbus; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and many special friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles D. "Parky" Allen and by a niece, Sheila Grey.
Harold retired from the Mead Corporation in 1982 and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Walnut Street United Methodist Church, Scioto Lodge #6 F & AM and American Legion Post 757.
Services were entrusted to Ware Funeral Home of Chillicothe, Ohio.
