William Clyde Covington died 10:45 a.m. Friday, March 20, 1992, at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 71, a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Denham Springs. He was a retired process operator in the Light Ends Dept., Exxon Corp. USA, and a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran of World War II. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 1:30 p.m. until religious services at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Ivy Carroll. Burial in Vickers Cemetery, Walker. Survived by wife, Margaret C. Covington , Denham Springs; a daughter and son-in-law, Verellee Covington and W.G. Hoover, Livingston ; three sons and daughters-in-law, William Covington , Jr., Denham Springs, Glenn and Vicki Strickland Covington , Greenwell Springs and Jeff and Ann Thomas Covington , both of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Clara Hooper, Zachary, and Alice Messina, Baton Rouge; and six grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, John R. Covington and Dulcie Sibley Beckner; a sister, Edith Holden; and a brother, Judge John S. Covington . He was a member and deacon of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Denham Springs.
