James Madison Cooper, son of Joel Madison Cooper and Sarah Trammell, was born February 5, 1836 in Georgia. He married Malinda Haynes about 1856 and together they had four (4) children. Five (5) years after his first wife, Malinda, died, Madison married Jane Miller. He and Jane had seven (7) children and were married about 48 years.
