Elaine Garrett Behnke, 88, of Waco, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Texan Nursing & Rehab Center. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Pat McClatchie and Rev. Carl Freeto officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.Monday, October 27, 2008 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey.

Elaine was born in Hill County, Texas, to the late Charles O. and Kate Garrett. She worked at Waco Radiological Clinic for many years. On March 16, 1946, she married Rudolph Behnke. Elaine has been a lifelong Methodist and a long-time member of the Galilean Class of Central United Methodist Church in Waco.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Hrncir, of Hallettsville, Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Rudolph; daughter, Sue Behnke, of Dallas; a sister, Gwendolyn G. Moore of Platteville, Wisconsin; nephews, John Hrncir and Ronald Moore; and nieces, Catherine Lambert and Celeste Moore.
