Entered into rest at Ste. Genevieve, Tuesday, October 8th, al 3:33 o'clock A.M., Mr. Adeline M. Ernst, wife of Joseph A. Ernst, aged 68 year, 6 months and 21 day, after a lingering Illness of year with bronchial consumption, grown out of chronic catarrh aggravated by la grippe.

Mrs. Ernst was the daughter of Protase and Abigail (Lord) Hackinger, horn near Cincinnati. O.. March 17th, 1843 She received a good education from her mother, at her home schools, and at the Sisters Academy near Mount St. Mary. On the 26th September, 1865, she was married to Jos. A. Ernst, and became mother of nine children, of whom two sons and one daughter survive her with their father. Her love for her family and for all good people was boundless and unswerving. The sufferings her last illness inflicted up her she bore with Christian fortitude and oh ! so much patience. When she still believed her sickness was not unto death site called for the consolation of her holy religion, and she was not disappointed. Her hope in life everlasting was strong within her to the last, and her last hope will not be disappointed.

The remains were interred in the Valle Spring Catholic cemetery Wednesday morning after a requiem mass had been sung for the repose of the soul by Rev. Father Kotte.
