Durwood Mitchell Dancer, age 65, of Lawton, Oklahoma, and formerly of Elkhart, Texas died Octoer 22, 2008 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton. Burial at Pilgrim Cemetery near Elkhart was under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home, Palestine, Texas. Mr. Dancer was born September 14, 1943 in Elkhart to the late Luther Mitchell Dancer and Lizzie Eloise (Carter) Dancer. He was retired from Brown and Root after 25 years of service as a general superintendent. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Denise Jo Dancer; daughters, Brandy Michele Dancer, and Denese Michell Lightsey; sons, Brandon J. Dancer and wife Missylynn, and Rick Bishop; sister, Carol Prestridge; and brothers, Elton Dancer, and Alton Dancer; a granddaughter; and two grandsons.
