CIVIL WAR SOLDIER 69TH PA. INF.
Born Co Dublin Ireland. John Fleming enlisted aged 31 at Philadelphia 19th Aug 1861 and mustered into the Regt at Camp Observation Md. 31st Oct. 1861.
John was badly wounded at Gettysburg 3rd July 1863, and he was subsequently discharged from service 6th.Dec. 1864 at end of his term.
Nothing is as now known of his life after his service in the 69th Pa. but it would appear he ended up his days in an old soldiers home close to Hampton Va.
