BARRY, Ill. - Lyle Eugene "Gene" Allensworth, 74, of Barry, Ill., died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at Barry Community Care Center.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry, with Daniel Gibson officiating. Burial will be at Shearer Cemetery in New Canton, Ill., with military rites by the Barry American Legion Post No. 222. A luncheon will be served at the Barry American Legion Hall following services.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at the funeral chapel with Masonic services conducted at 7 p.m. by New Canton Lodge A.F. & A.M.
Gene was born Sept. 2, 1932, in New Canton, to Casper and Thelma McNary Allensworth.
He married Mary Seabaugh on Oct. 4, 1954, in Hannibal. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother; two sons; a daughter; three grandchildren; a brother; and two sisters.
