Services for Geraldine Wedgeworth Rogers, 81, of Pert will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bailey and Foster Chapel with the Rev. Larry Krohn officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. Mrs. Rogers died Wednesday (Oct 15, 2008) at her residence. She was born Feb. 17, 1927 in Anderson County to Riley Lee and Maggie Sophronia Wedgeworth. Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, Houston, Longview, and Pert. She served as Sunday school teacher, and on many boards and stations in the UMW as well as district boards. She worked on the PTA and served as president. She loved children and family. Her door was always open to those in need or just for a visit. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Angelique Rogers, Shawn Rogers, and Curt Allen Rogers; great-grandchild, Wesley Cole Bownan; brothers, John William Wedgeworth, Riley Lee Wedgeworth and Doyce Wedgeworth. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Billie Jack Rogers; daughter, Carrie Button; sons, Kenneth Rogers, and Jerry Rogers; sisters, Dorothy Brown, Marie Freeman, and Sue Toups; and brother, Jack Wedgeworth of Neches; seven grandchildren, Lance Button, Bryan Button, Elaine Scalapino, Chandra Rogers, Billy Rogers, Sarah Johnston, and Blake Rogers; and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Riley Lee Wedgeworth, Troy Wedgeworth, Steve Henderson, Doyce Wedgeworth, Gerald Brown and John Wayne Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Toups, Roger Henderson and Van Brown.
