Albert Borucki, of Peabody and formerly of Chelsea, departed this life October 12, 2008.

He was the second son of the late Stephen and Julia (Malek) Borucki, his parents born in Poland.

Albert was raised and educated in Chelsea and had lived in Peabody for the past 43 years.

In the early 1940's, he became a welder and worked in the ship yard. He entered the Army and served in the tank division, stationed in various places throughout Europe. At the end of the war, he left the service and returned to Chelsea.

He worked for a number of years at American Biltrite in Chelsea where he manufactured soles for shoes. In the late 1960's, he was accepted into an apprentice program at what was then the American Shoe Machinery company in Beverly.

Albert loved playing cards and board games with his family. There were any number of things that were of interest to him, photography was one, but perhaps his longest lasting passion was for gardening — particularly for growing fruit and vegetables. Each year, he looked forward to his homegrown blueberries, pumpkins, tomatoes, peaches and whatever else he happened to be growing. He then enjoyed making (and eating) blueberry pies, pumpkin pies or whatever other goodies he could make from his produce.

He was the beloved husband of Beatrice (DeWolf) Borucki with whom he shared over 58 years of marriage. They were married on July 9, 1950. Also surviving are children Linda, Albert, Robert, Kenneth, and Scott also his grandchildren.

Interment was in the family lot in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
