NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Funeral services for Mrs. Evangeline "Nan" Bush Sumerau, 88, of North Augusta, SC, who entered into rest October 12, 2008, will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from the First Baptist Church of North Augusta. Rev. Jerry T. Matthews and Dr. J. Andrew Menger officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Park. Mrs. Sumerau was a lifelong resident of North Augusta and the former co-owner of Bush Flower Shop. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, the Hope Sunday School Class, the Sheffield Club and Carolina Hills Garden Club. Mrs. Sumerau was the wife of the late Mr. Louis G. Sumerau, Sr., daughter of the late James C. & Lena DeLaughter Bush, Sr. and sister of the late Betty Menger and Jeanette Bush. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Louis and Pat Sumerau and Tommy Sumerau; a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Thomas Cauthen, all of North Augusta; seven grandchildren, Andrea Bussey, Julie Cauthen, Candace Furness, Susan Corley, Guy Sumerau, Patrick Sumerau and Kelli Corley; 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Bush, North Augusta; a sister, Bebe Holeman, North Augusta; other family members include Vicki Sumerau and several great-nieces and nephews; a special friend, Vickie VanHorn. Pallbearers will be Guy Sumerau, Patrick Sumerau, David Menger, John Menger, Charley Bush and Sam Holeman, III. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening from 5 until 7. The family will be at the residence of Thomas and Jane Cauthen, 45 Shadow Rock Drive, North Augusta, SC.
