Mrs. Stanton died at her home in Poynette, Sept 27th and was buried, Sept 29. Her age was eight three. She leaves a husband, eight children, 44 grandchildren and hosts of friends to mourn her loss.

She was the mother of nine children, four sons and five daughters, one of whom preceded her to the better land, a daughter dying at the age of two years.

At the time of her death she was a member of the Methodist church, a christian from childhood up. She was beloved by all who knew her. She died in peace. Her gain was our loss.

Mother was born in England April 4, 1814. Her maiden name was Rhoda Wilkes. She was married to H. C. Stanton, Sept 16th 1836, emigrated to America with her husband and six children in the year 1949.

She remained in Wisconsin up to the time of her death, living in Moundville a number of years; the last of her life being spent in Poynette.
