FRANK McCLENDON
Frank McClendon, Gainesville, MO, son of Orville and Chloe (Wood) McClendon was born May 28, 1917 in Dawt, MO and passed away October 8, 2008 in Ava, MO at the age of 91 years.
Frank proudly served his country during World War II as a Staff Sergeant for the United States Air Force. On September 1, 1951 he married Helen (Wilson) Roedel in Harrison, AR. He worked for many years as a carpenter, and was formerly the Mayor of Gainesville, MO for many years.
Frank is survived by his wife Helen of the home in Gainesville; one son Bob McClendon of Silsbee, TX; grandchildren Frank Martin, Annette Parker, Brandi Miller, Nicholas McClendon; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Ruth Martin, one sister Juanita McClendon, and one grandson Jimmy Martin.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 11, 2008, 11:00 AM at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, with Halbert Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Gainesville Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday starting at 10:00 AM to service time.
