Funeral services for Katharine M. Bishop, 88, of Newark, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnson Funeral Service with the Rev. Bruce Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at the Pataskala Cemetery. Mrs. Bishop died March 26, 1995 at her residence. She was born Aug. 16, 1906 in Weston, W.Va. to the late Homer and Molly (Toy) McCoy. Mrs. Bishop was a graduate of Denison University. She taught school for a number of years at Jacksontown and Utica High Schools, She had also taught at Berea Collage for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Newark Moundbuildres Country Club, Alpha Phi Sorority, Life Master of A.C.B.L., and Monday Talks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles S. Bishop in 1979; and one brother. She is survived by two sons, Thomas Bishop of Newark and Nicholas Bishop of Southern Pines, N.C.; one grandson; and one sister, Helen Stalter, of Grover City, Fla. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
