A Pulaski man was found dead at his home Sunday (October 23), the victim of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Police said Joe H. Minatra, 63, East College Street, died at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville shortly after he was found shot in his backyard.

Minatra was a Giles County native and a retired truck driver for Maremont Gabriel Corporation.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (October 25), at Carr and Erwin Chapel with Dr. David Miller officiating. Burial was in Giles Memory Garden.

He was the son of the late Guy and Mary Cardin Minatra.

Survivors include his wife, Maxie Ann Minatra (Maxie Ann Marks) of Pulaski; two sons, William Terry Minatra and Tim Minatra, both of Pulaski; two daughters, Donna Jo Potts of Nashville and Melinda Ann Minatra of Knoxville; three brothers, Claude of Pulaski, Bill of Columbia and Bob Minatra of Memphis; three sisters, Lavonia Mansfield of Pulaski, Mary Ann Cobb of Nashville, and Martha Newman of Athens, Ala.; three grandsons, David and Kevin Potts of Pennsylvania and Joey Minatra of Pulaski.
