Pearl was first married to Luther Holder and had two children - a daughter Margaret F. Holder, who died as an infant and a son William L. Holder. She later married Collis LaVigne and they had two sons, Collis J., and Ronald S. and one daughter, Virginia LaVigne.
She lived a full life and was actively working in her garden until the last few years of her life. She died at her residence at the age of 102 years on February 26, 2006.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Collis LaVigne, two sons, Collis J. LaVigne and William L. Holder, and her infant daughter, Margaret F. Holder.
Survivors include a son Ronald S. LaVigne, Sr. of Fairhope, Alabama; a daughter, Wilma Virginia Kirkpatrick of Hattiesburg, a sister, Wilma Randall Green of Biloxi; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Jones & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Pearl loved her family and was happiest when they all came together once a year for reunions to celebrate her birthday. She was an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
