MRS. STORY
VALLEY -- Mrs. Marie Colley Story, 74, of Valley died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at George H. Lanier Memorial Nursing Home in Valley.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Wesley Dykes officiating. Burial will follow in Fairfax Cemetery in Valley.
Mrs. Story is survived by her husband, Henry Alvin Story of Valley; three daughters, Sydelle Thyne of Stockbridge, Ga., Darlaine Story and Denise Philpott, both of Valley; her sister, Mrs. Claude Colley Easteridge of Lanett; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Born April 23, 1925, in Tallapoosa County, Ala., Mrs. Story was an active member of Midway Baptist Church in Valley. She had worked for WestPoint Stevens Fairfax Mill in the towel department and also in the lunchroom at Valley High School. Mrs. Story was the daughter of the late Estelle Shepard Colley and Arthur Colley. She was preceded in death by her son, Dwayne Story.
The family will be at the home of Denise Philpott, 2190 Judge Brown Road in Valley and will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Chattahoochee Hospice in memory of Mrs. Story.
