Mrs. Waggoner was born January 14, 1932, in Surry County, to the late Will Franklin and Alma Davis Greenwood.
She was a retired English teacher with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system, teaching most of her years at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Waggoner was also a member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem.
Surviving: daughter and son-in- law, Martha Jane Waggoner and Art Eisenstadt of Raleigh; niece and spouse, Melinda and Craig Edwards and son Chad of Troutman; nephews and spouses, Jim and Susan Parker and daughter, Suzanne of Clemmons and Frank and Kristy Greenwood of Mount Airy.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Waggoner was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Parker and by a brother Joe Greenwood.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 18, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at Oakdale Cemetery, Mount Airy, with services conducted by Rev. Ken Carter.
