Oasis/Salina, Utah - LaPreal "Mickey" Mickelsen Cary, age 79, passed away September 15, 2008 in Delta, Utah, from complications following a stroke.

She was born October 31, 1928 in Salina, a daughter of Fred and Bernice Rasmussen Mickelsen. She married Richard Irving Cary, March 12, 1954 in Salina, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, March 12, 1955. Dick preceded her in death July 27, 1998.

LaPreal was a faithful servant and a valued member of the LDS Church where she held numerous callings. LaPreal loved to spend time with her three precious daughters: Dixie and Kelly Bird of Lehi; Lissa Sorensen of Mesquite, NV; Mya and Bryan Beach of Salina.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Vaun and MaryKay Mickelsen of Manti; McKay and Shirley Mickelsen of Salina; Lynn and Colleen Mickelsen of Morgan.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the doctors and staff at Millard County Care Center in Delta, for their kindness and compassion to LaPreal. Also, to the Oasis Ward members who lovingly watched after LaPreal for so many years following Dick's passing.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 19, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the Salina 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 85 South 100 East in Salina. A private family viewing will be held prior to the services and burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
