Isaac was a son of James Nicholson & Lucretia Walls, born in Monroe County, Tennessee. His father died in 1832 leaving his mother Lucretia, widowed with children.

Some Nicholson family moved to Murray County, Georgia around 1843-1844.

Isaac was married to Sarah Jane Tye on March 22, 1845 in Murray County, Georgia. They had two children together, Julia & James, both born in Murray County. Isaac's young wife died, in late 1848 or 1849, possibly from complications during birth of her son James in 1848, leaving Isaac widowed with two young children.

Issac relocated to Williamson County, Illinois between 1850-1853. He was married a second time, to Belinda Melinda White on October 23, 1854 in Williamson County. This married produced nine children that I know of.

Isaac N. Nicholson was a Civil War Veteran. He fought in Company "G" 120 Illinois Infantry.
