She was born October 14, 1929 in Mapleton to Oscar and Mary Sullivan Whiting. Virginia was raised in Mapleton and attended school there. She loved her nieces and nephews and had a special interest in them and their activities. They loved their aunt and the attention she always gave to them. She had a love for animals and she had a remarkable memory for everyone she met.
She is survived by one brother and two sisters: Juan (Alma) Whiting of Mapleton, Joyce (Heber) Olson of Tempe, Arizona, Marilyn (Don) Alston of Hendersen, Nevada; also sisters-in-law, Lora Whiting of Mapleton and Beryl Whiting of Whittier, California; and brother-in-law, Don Allan of Mapleton. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Ray Whiting and James Gary Whiting; and sister, Thora Allan.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 East 200 South in Springville. There will be a viewing held one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
