GREENSBORO — Billy Gene Sipe, 77, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 28, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Street Chapel. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.
Billy was born May 28, 1931, in Guilford County, N.C., to the late Oscar Lee and Minnie Mae Sipe. He proudly served his country while in the Navy. He retired from American General Finance Company and LeBauer Health Care.
Mr. Sipe was preceded in death by his wife, Betty McCollum Sipe; brothers, Ralph, Ed, Shorty; and his sister, Lois Gilliland.
He is survived by his children, Cathy Coffer of Brown Summit, Joe Sipe and wife, Nancy of Colfax, Janice Farson and husband, Stan of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren, Mike Sipe, Tyler Blakely, Jessica Coffer, Dan and Mandy Farson. He was expecting his first great grandson, Christian in November. Also surviving is his brother, Jack Sipe; sisters, Virginia Moody, Alta Mae Green; special friend, Linda Baucom and their beloved dog, Susie Q.
