Betty Jane Houck, 79, of 5290 Paes Road, New Holland, died Friday, March 23, 2007 at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center.

Born in Narvon, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Woodward) Devine. Her first husband, William McGinnis, died in 1951, and her second husband, Jacob A. Houck, died in 1977. She was a homemaker and a member of Meadville Mennonite Church where she enjoyed attending and singing. She also enjoyed playing Bingo.

She will be lovingly missed by a step son, Earl R. Houck of Narvon; four sons, William McGinnis of East Earl. James K. Sr., married to Kathryn McGinnis, Narvon, Charles Houck, and Jacob, married to Regina Houck, both of New Holland; 19 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a sister, Sadie Weller of New Holland.

Preceding her in death are three sons, George and Arthur MeGinnis, and Gerald Houck; a brother Tom Devine, and a sister Violet "Tud" Hurst.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 27 at 10 am at the Groff-High Funeral
Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, with the Reverend John D. Meek officiating. Interment will be in the Ranck's United Methodist Cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Groff-High Funeral Home on Monday 6-8 pm and on Tuesday 9-10 am. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
