Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of
Mrs. Betty Devine McGinnis Houck of Gap R1 and the late William W. McGinnis.
He was a member of the Meadville Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his wife, Effie M. Parmer McGinnis, his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Houck; and the following children: George H. Jr., Betty and Tammy McGinnis at home; three brothers: William of New Holland R2; James K. of Gap Rl; and Jerry McGinnis in the U.S. Navy; and two step brothers, Charles and Jacob Houck, both of Gap R1.
