Mrs. Martha E. Squire Funeral Services Held; Was Former Resident

Mrs. Martha E. Squire, for many years a resident of this vicinity, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mabel Grierson at Champaign, Friday. The body was taken to Monica where funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. M. S. Swisher was in charge. Interment was in the Princeville cemetery.
Six nephews of the deceased acted as pall bearers. They were: George Armstrong of Champaign; Joseph Leaverton, Arthur Blank Auvern Delbridge, John Delbridge and James Delbridge.
Martha E. Squire, daughter of Joseph and Martha Armstrong, was born near Monica, December 6, 1861. She was sixty-seven years of age on the day preceding her death. She was married on March 10, 1896, to John Squire who preceded her in death on December 19, 1917. To this union two children were born: Richard A. and Mabel J. of Champaign, who with six grandchildren survive.
She also leaves three sisters; Mrs. Ellen Leaverton of Monica, Miss Rose Armstrong of Shenandoah, Iowa; and Miss Jennie Blank of Coln, Iowa; and three sister-in-laws. Mrs. Catherine Armstrong of Champaign, Mrs. Rose Armstrong of Princeville and Jennie Russell of Princeville, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
She was a life-long member of the White's Grove Baptist church.
