Atha Todd was born May 1, 1826 in Lowndes, AL the son of Josiah and Zilpha Thomas Todd. He married Helen Caroline Soles there on February 20, 1851. They had eight children, the first seven including Helen Caroline were born in Lowndes, the last on October 26, 1868. Their next and last child was born in Brazos County, Texas on December 16, 1872 after their relocation to Texas in 1869. Their travels to Texas were chronicled in the Bryan Eagle in 1926 by Alice Cornelia Hunter Cole a niece of Helen Caroline's who made the trip with the families of the three Soles sisters. Atha died in Brazos County on January 20, 1892.
