Laura Cedonia Todd Dansby
Died at the residence of her brother , Dr. T. L. Todd, in Bethel community on Saturday, Oct. 30, 1892, Mrs. Laura C. Dansby wife of our fellow townsman, D. M. Dansby. She was ill just one week with peneumonia. While her husband had gone to the Dallas Fair, she had gone out to spend the day with her brother, from which visit she never returned. Mrs. D. was born in Lowndes County, Ala., Dec. 11, 1851. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Todd, whom had both died within the last five years. She came to Texas with her parents and was married to Mr. D. about twenty-two years ago. She was the mother of ten children four only of whom are now living. She was recognized by all who knew her as one of the purest and best women of the community in which she had lived. There never was a more devoted wife or self sacrificing mother or consecrated Christian than she was. She never was known to say a harmful word about anyone and everyone that knew her loved her, and even the threashold of eternity when she knew that the death angel had come for her for she talked with perfect composure and advice with her husband and children as though she was preparing to take a pleasant journey, stating that she was willing to go and was perfectly resigned to her fate. Then why sorrow over death of one who by dying was made one of the greatest of victory that ever lived or died.
