Obituary - Beloved mother and grandmother, Alice Snell Black age 84 formerly of Payson, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Latter Days Assisted Living in Santaquin. She was born May 28, 1921 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Silas Hillman and Alice Robertson Snell. She married Harold Marion Black, May 29, 1939 in Payson. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death February 1, 1996.
Alice enjoyed reading, embroidering, camping and especially trips with her daughters. She loved spending time with her grandkids. She always had a treat for those she was around. She had a wonderful sense of humor.
Survivors include: two sons and three daughters, Wayne (Phyllis) Black, serving an LDS Mission in Philadelphia; Paul (Nan) Black, Goshen; Pat (Randy) Huff, Sparks, Nevada; Carol (Rodger) Ewell, Huntington; Darlene (Dean) Madsen, Lyman, Wyoming; sisters-in-law, Marie Johnson, Bonnie Frank and Jeri Black; 30 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Phil, Jim and Keith; a grandson-in-law, Todd Waters; a granddaughter, Lora Ewell; three brothers, Bremmar, Frank and Rufus; three sisters, Stella Jorgeson, Norma Oakley and Clara Garbett.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 13, 2006, 11:00 a.m., in the Mtn. View 4th Ward, 75 South 600 East, Payson. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Sunday, 6-8:00 p.m. or at the church Monday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Latter Days Assisted Living for the wonderful care and friendship
