James M. Ackert, 78, a highly respected residentof West Park, died early today. A retired railroad man, he had been employed by the West Shore for more than 20 years. Among the survivors are a son, Frank B. Ackert, of West Park; two daughters, Mrs. John R. Wood of Dumont, N.j., and Mrs. Augustus Schmidt of West Park; also a brother, Gilbert M. Ackert of Plutarch and a sister, Mrs. Agnes Martin of Poughkeepsie. Funeral services will be private with burial in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ernest Kelly Funeral Home, 111 West Chester Street, on Sunday between 2 and 4 p.m and 7 and 9 p.m.
