NOTE: The Death Certificate erroneously names Samuel Whitfield as the father of Stephen. Stephen Whitfield is the son of William Gray Whitfield and Annie Murray Whitfield, both of whom were born in North Carolina and died in Tate, Pickens County, Georgia. It also states the date of death as 5 Feb 1922; however, the correct date of death most likely is the date on the monument, 4 Feb 1922.
