A young man by the name of Jamison was drowned in Bear Creek, at the Harrell farm, Thursday afternoon, while swimming in the creek with his brother. The deceased, with his wife and child, came in from Oklahoma only the day before on a visit to his parents, who live on the F A Robertson place, and was going to return later to Oklahoma, where he had a contract to teach a nine month's term
of school. The Jamison family and the Keene family were on the creek bank picknicking, and all witnessed the heartrenching scene. A brother of the deceased tried to save the drowning man, and only abandoned his efforts when he saw that his efforts were fruitless. The remains were interred in the Marshall Cemetery Friday.
