Donald F. McNett, 92, Belmont, died Monday, March 7, 1994, at his home after a lingering illness.

He was born in Elk Grove Township, Lafayette County on Sept. 27, 1901, the son of Cameron and Elizabeth Fox McNett. He was united in marriage to Alpha Baker April 12, 1921. Don was instrumental in building the Swiss cheese factory and establishing a local medical clinic and he donated to the Village of Belmont a building for the John Turgeson Library. As a 32nd Degree Mason, he was very active in the Platteville Masonic Lodge, Commandery, Consistory, Zor Shrine and the Eastern Star for over 40 years.
