Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Proctor, wife of Mr. Thomas F. Proctor, Sr., died at her home on Hanover Street, extended, Friday night at 10:30 o'clock, following a lingering illness of several weeks of general infirmities of age. Mrs. Proctor had lived a long and useful life, being in her 83rd year at the time of death. Her husband, Mr. Proctor, is a Confederate veteran, having served in the War Between the States in the 30th Virginia Regiment, and Mrs. Proctor was an ardent supporter of the Lost Cause. She was well acquainted with war activities in this city and section, and had known many of the chieftains of the Confederacy. Mrs. Proctor was before marriage, Miss Frances E. Jones, and was a native of Fredericksburg. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church.
Surviving here are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Dora Ryan, of Connecticut; 3 sons, Messrs. John B. Proctor, of Richmond; Joseph Proctor, of Washington, and Thomas F. Proctor, Jr., of Fredericksburg; one sister, of Caroline county, 17 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Methodist church on Monday, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. F. Locke, at 3:30 p. m. Interment will be made in the Confederate Cemetery.
