Basting, Nicholas
REWEY
Nicholas Basting, age 81 of Rewey, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at Southwest Health Center in Platteville. He was born and raised in the Mineral Point area on April 4, 1927. He is survived by his wife, Jo Anne of Rewey; his children, Ann Williams of Rewey, Tammy (Bert) Menning of Mifflin, Kim (Andy) Stahl of Blue River, and Shawn (Lisa) Kraus of New Glarus; five grandchildren, Christopher Stahl, Lydia Oler, Nicholas, Rayshawn, and Breyza Kraus; a sister, Louise Schwartz of Darlington; a brother, Jack (Doris) Basting of Mineral Point; a sister-in-law, Helen Basting of Mineral Point; and many nieces; nephews; relatives; and friends. He will rest in peace with other family members. A celebration of Nick's life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point. Graveside military rites will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at 10 a.m. at GRACELAND CEMETERY with Fr. James Hinnen officiating and the Mineral Point Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion services.
